Called also: <i>Malinois, Mechelaar, Mechelse Herder, Belgian Shepherd</i> <br />
Etymology: French, one from <i>Malines</i> (from Malines (Mechelen), Belgium.)  Old High German, <i>nuz</i> nut and perhaps Latin <i>nux</i> nut. <br />
